The plan.
As of right now, the path from the back lot of American Legion Post #160 to it's sign off of Concord Road is uneven, muddy, and underdeveloped. This project will provide a safe path, as well as landscaping around the area to make the trip safer, and nicer to look at. The project was requested by the Post 160 Commander so its employees and volunteers can access the sign safely at any time in the day/evening.
The path
This project requires digging a few inches into Georgia clay. We will need to clear the area, dig a few inches down for the pavers to lay, place a garden barrier, lay sand, and lock the pavers into the sand with water. Since Georgia often has unpredictable weather, we will finish this portion of the project in one consecutive weekend (Sat-Sun), to prevent any of our work from being washed away. |
The landscaping
To plant bushes in the clay and leave room for minimal upkeep, we must clear out any weeds in the area, and lay a barrier to prevent them before planting. We plan to plant 6 bushes around the front half of the sign, and clean up the branches and trees around it. This should only take us one day in a weekend (Sat). |
